On 2 June 2015, Altice, owner of the French telecom operator Numericable-SFR, finalized its €7.4bn acquisition of the Portugal Telecom group, Portugal’s number 1 mobile operator, from Brazilian operator Oi.
The European Commission had already given the go-ahead on 21 April, with a request that the group sell its Portuguese subsidiaries ONI and Cabovisao.
